Instructions: page 2
For the bigger handle on the window, draw a rectangle with the same materials as the hinges. Set width and depth to maximum. Put in place.

handle

Select the window, the glass, the hinges and the handle. Group. Save to your EasyPalette if you like for later use. All objects are still paths so it is easy to modify them later if you need them again. Merge as a Single Object. Duplicate. Flip Horizontally and put in place on the left.

Note: The reason why we need to merge the parts of the window (image object) is that if we duplicate the path objects, the shading would not flip but stay the same as in the first window, as you can see below.

example

This is what my image looks like at this stage:

example

I decide to add another border to the window frame to make it look a bit more ornate. First change to the Path Drawing Tool and click on the outer window frame. It should bring back the colors and attributes of your material settings. of that outer frame. Deselect but stay with the Path Drawing Tool. Shift+N to expand your image with 25 pixels, color: white, expand sides equally checked. Right click: All. Right click: Border: 25 Inwards. Trace Selection and Change the mode to 3D-Custom again. Change the Width to 15 and the Depth to 30.Deselect.

The windowsill: First we need to expand our canvas to make room. Shift+N to expand your canvas with 25 pixels, color white, to all sides. Shift+N again, this time add 50 pixels only to the bottom.
Draw a rectangle of about 500 pixels x 45 pixels. Border 6 Depth: 30. Put in place like this:

sill

In your Material box change the bevel to the 5th icon. Click the Color/Texture tab. Click on the gradient colors to open the fill dialogue. Right click on both colors and using the Ulead Color Picker make both colors a bit darker. I used: #c4b6a6 and #eeeadb. Change to the Tranform Tool: Perspective, drag one of the bottom transform handles to left or right till the angle corresponds with the corner of the third outer frame like this:

perspective

(Earlier versions: Repeat the Paint on Edges.)
Draw another rectangle same lenght as the sill, height: 12, Width: 5 Depth: 5 and put in place in front of the sill:

example

(Earlier versions: Repeat - PoE).

Deselect. Now we will make the background. Edit: Fill - Texture - Magic Texture MT17. Adjust: Hue and Saturation: Hue Minus 54.

Change to your Standard Selection Tool: Rectangle Soft Edge: 50. Double click the title bar of your image to get rid of the window. Draw a selection around the bottom part of your background like this:

selection

Adjust: Brightness and Contrast - Gamma Correction: 0.8. This will create a sort of shadow beneath the sill. Deselect. Make another selection at the top of your background and repeat. This spot should be darker also, because it catches less light from outside. Now we need to create some depth behind the windows. Click on your painted image layer to select it. Airbrush: Color: Black Size: 75 Tranparency: 10 Soft Edge 75. Paint on Edges and Deselect.
Select the outer window box frame (the one we made last) and drag this layer under your painting layer. Shadow: Black Fifth Icon (overall shadow. Transparency: 65 Size : 100 and Soft Edge 15. Deselect.

Finishing touches:
  • Flower vase: Path Drawing Tool: Rectangle Transform Tool - Perspective. Make a bit wider at the top. I used the same preset. Change Border and Depth to your likings.
  • Stamp a flower on top of it. Merge as Single Object. Perspective Shadow. . Duplicate 2 times and arrange them on your window sill.
  • Bowl with fruit: Draw a shape: Custom Shape: B41. Same preset. Flip Horizontally. Go into path edit and change the top line from line to curve. Use the nodes to shape your bowl.
    path edit
  • Add some fruit from your stamps folder. Merge as Single Object. Same Shadow as Vases with flowers
You are done. Select all your objects and drag them into your EasyPalette if you wish. Merge as a Single Object. Photo: Focus: Options: Auto Adjust. Resize if you like. If you resize, use the Focus again after resizing.
