| Before we start, you need to go to Selection in the Menu Bar and make sure that: Preserve Base Image is checked. Otherwise we will end up with white spots on our backgrond, after we have used the Standard Selection Tool. ----------------------- Open a new white image of 500 x 400 pixels. We will start with the frame. Go to Edit: Fill and click the Gradient tab. 2 Color Fill: Right click on the first color box and select the background color, right click on the second color box and select the foreground color. Select the diagonal fill type ![]() and click OK. We will continue with the frame now. Right click: All. This will select the entire image. Edit: Fill -- Image tab and browse to your gold fill image that should be in its folder on your desktop. Use these settings: ![]() Right click: Expand/Shrink and shrink the selection with 4 pixels. Go to Edit: Fill again and select the Gradient tab. Fill the selection with the same 2 color gradient. Your image will look similar to this one now: ![]() Right click : Expand/Shrink and this time, shrink the selection with 2 pixels . Edit : Fill -- Image same settings as above. Right click : Expand/Shrink and shrink the selection with 2 pixels and fill it with the two color gradient like we did before. Your image will look like this: ![]() Right click: None to deselect. Now we will convert our frame to an object. This is how we will do that: Right click: All Right click: Border with these settings: ![]() Right click: Convert to Object Right click: Shadow with these settings: ![]() Your image looks like this now: ![]() In your Layer Manager change the name of the object to frame. ![]() Go to Photo -- Focus and click the third thumbnail on the top row. This will add a little "shine" to any metal pattern. Don't forget to save your work. If you like, drag your frame to your EasyPalette for future use. Deselect the frame by hitting your return key. The frame is ready now and we will continue with the lattice work. |
Change to your Path Drawing Tool: Shape: Rectangle color: white Mode: 2D ![]() and draw a rectangle, width: 250 and height:25 pixels. Note: if you find it hard to draw a shape to an exact size, you can draw a rectangle (any size) right click: Properties and then select the Position and Size tab. Uncheck the Keep aspect ratio box and fill in the required width and height. ![]() Right click and Duplicate the shape. In your Layer Manager select the original white shape (not the duplicate) ![]() and fill it with your gold fill pattern, same settings as before. You will not see the fill because it is under the duplicated layer, but it will show in your Layer Manager. Now select the duplicated shape in your Layer Manager and change the Mode to Selection ![]() Right click: Expand/Shrink and shrink the selection with 3 pixels. Right click: Convert to Object Right click: Arrange -- Bring to Front. ![]() With your Control Key pressed, select the 2 top layers in your Layer Manager ![]() Right click and: Merge as a Single Object. Go to Photo --- Focus and click the third thumbnail on the first row. This will add a little shimmer to the frame. On to Page 3 Site map |
