Change to the Line and Arrow Tool with these settings:
![]() With your Shift Key pressed draw a straight vertical line of about 30 pixels. Put in place. Right click: Arrange - Send Backward. Rename this layer nose2. Deselect and save your work. ![]() Change to the Outline Drawing Tool with these settings: ![]() Draw a circle of 60 x 60 pixels and put in place like this: ![]() Rename this layer: mouth. Right click: Convert Object Type --- From Text/Path to Image. Pick up your Object Paint Eraser from the Tool Panel with these settings: Erase the top half of the mouth like this: ![]() With your Ctrl key pressed, select the eyes, nose1, nose2 and the mouth layers. Note: Don't include your head and muzzle layers Right click: Align -- Center Horizontally. Right click: Merge as a Single Object. Rename this layer: face Right click: Shadow ![]() My image looks like this: ![]() Right click: Select All Objects. Right click: Align -- Center Horizontally. Deselect and save your work. Select your muzzle layer. Right click: Shadow : ![]() Keep Selected. Now we need to do some shading. Change to your Paint Airbrush with these settings: color: #b28453 ![]() Effect -- All -- Paint on Edges. Apply this effect twice. This will give a darker edge to the muzzle. Deselect. Select the head layer: Change the Shape of the Airbrush to 45 and the Soft Edge to 55. Apply the Paint on Edges Effect once. Keep selected. ![]() Change to the Retouch Tool: Dodge -- with these settings: ![]() Make sure your head layer is still selected. With your brush in this position: ![]() Click once and deselect. Click on your muzzle layer to select it: Change the size of your Dodge brush to 55 and click twice in the center of the muzzle. ![]() Now we are going to make the ears. To do so: Right click on your muzzle layer and duplicate. Drag it to a empty place on your canvas. Right click: Shadow and UNCHECK the Shadow box.This will remove the shadow. Edit: Fill -- Image and fill with the darker fur fill, same settinfgs as before. rename this layer outer ear. Duplicate it and fill the duplicate with the lighter fur fill. Rename this layer: inner ear. In the Menu Bar go to Adjust: Resize and resize the inner ear layer to 75%. Be sure that Apply to: Selected Object has a checkmark. ![]() Put in place like this: ![]() Select both parts of the ear: right click: Arrange: Send to Back and put in place behind the head. With both parts of the ear still selected pick up your Airbrush again. Change the size of the brush to 30 and the Soft Edge to 45. Apply the Paint on Edges effect twice. Right click and merge your ear layers as a Single Object. Rename this layer :ear1 Duplicate the ear and using the Transform Tool - Flip and Rotate: Flip the ear Horizontally, send it to the back and put in place like this: Rename this layer: ear2 ![]() Deselect.
